Espresso old Fashioned
1 double shot espresso (about 2 oz.), room temperature
1 ounce Oak & Eden Rye Whiskey
¼ ounce simple syrup
Dash of Angostura bitters
1 1" piece lemon peel
Serving Size: One (not always the loneliest number)
Preparation: Footed Rocks Glass with medium ice cubes
Directions: Combine espresso, Rye, simple syrup, and bitters in a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Stir until outside of shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds; strain into a lowball glass filled with ice. Twist lemon peel over cocktail to release oils, then rub over the rim of glass; discard peel.
Turn this cocktail into an intensified version of an Espresso Martini by simple shaking 2oz of Espresso, 1 oz of Oak & Eden Rye Whiskey and 1 oz of Irish Cream Liqueur over ice. Serve in a chilled Martini glass for an elegant after-dinner luxury.
