4 Winter Cocktails to Keep You Warm

With the holidays around the corner, we decided to create a handful of cocktail recipes created by Oak & Eden that will help to keep your holiday parties lively, or to quietly enjoy by the crackling of a fireplace.


 
 
 

01. Bourbon Apple Cider

Oak & Eden BOURBON APPLE CIDER
 
 

1 1/2 OUNCES OAK & EDEN BOURBON

3/4 OUNCE BERENTZEN APPLE LIQUOR

PINCH OF GROUND CINNAMON

SPARKLING OR HARD CIDER FOR TOPPING

APPLES FOR GARNISH

 

Serving Size: 4

Preparation: Rocks Glass with Medium sized Ice Cubes

Directions: Slice the top third of an apple off and set aside for garnish. In a wide low-ball glass, add in the bourbon, apple liquor and cinnamon then stir. Top with sparkling cider and apple for garnish.

 
 

02. The Campfire

6 OZ. OAK & EDEN RYE WHISKEY

1 CUP SUGAR

1 CUP WATER

8-10 MARSHMALLOWS

 

Serving Size: 4

Directions: 

  1. In a saucepan, heat water and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add marshmallows and increase the heat to medium-high, stirring the marshmallows frequently until they're dissolved, about 5 minutes. 

  2. Strain the marshmallow simple syrup into an airtight container (a bottle or mason jar work great here), removing the leftover marshmallow solids. Set aside to cool. Simple syrup will keep for 2 weeks and should be refrigerated.

  3. In a glass, add Oak & Eden Rye.

  4. Add ice, garnish with a toasted marshmallow, and enjoy!

 
 

03. Cinnamon Rosemary Old Fashioned

2 OZ OAK & EDEN BOURBON

1 ORANGE PEEL

6 SPRIGS ROSEMARY

1 ROSEMARY

4 TSP CINNAMON ROSEMARY SIMPLE SYRUP

1/2 CUP HONEY

3 CINNAMON STICKS

3 DASHES ANGOSTURA BITTERS

1/2 CUP WATER

 

Serving Size: 4

Preparation: Rocks Glass with Medium sized Ice Cubes

Directions: Start with making the simple syrup. In a small saucepan, combine honey, water, rosemary sprigs, and cinnamon sticks over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring frequently until honey has dissolved into water. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Once cool, remove rosemary and cinnamon sticks and transfer to an airtight container.

When ready to make cocktail, add 4 teaspoons of the cinnamon rosemary simple syrup and 3 dashes of bitters to an Old Fashioned glass. Swirl syrup and bitters around in glass. Add bourbon, ice, orange peel, and stir. Store extra simple syrup in airtight container in refrigerator. Enjoy!

 
 

04. Holiday Rye Punch

1 750 ML BOTTLE OF OAK & EDEN RYE

2 FAMILY SIZED BLACK TEA BAGS

1 ORANGE PEEL

2 QT SPICED SWEET TEA, ORANGE

1 CINNAMON STICK

1 CLOVE, WHOLE

1/2 CUP SUGAR

2 QT APPLE CIDER

6 CUPS ICE

4 1/2 CUP WATER

 

Serving Size: 16

Preparation: Rocks Glass with Medium sized Ice Cubes

Directions: 

Orange Spiced Sweet Tea:

  1. In a pot place water, tea bags, orange peel, cinnamon stick and clove and bring to a boil. Once it starts to boil remove from heat and let brew for 3-4 minutes.

  2. Remove tea bags, peel, cinnamon stick and clove and pour tea into a large pitcher.

  3. Add the sugar and ice and stir until ice melts completely.

  4. Refrigerate until you are ready to make the Holiday Rye Punch.

Holiday rye Punch:

  1. In a large punch bowl mix together the apple cider, water, rye, and Orange Spiced Sweet Tea.

  2. Add 3 cups ice, 4-5 orange slices and 1/2 cup cranberries to the punch.

  3. Place garnishes on a serving plate.

  4. Have glasses and ice available for guests to serve themselves.
