Smokey Old Fashioned
Smokey old Fashioned
As we're getting prepped up for Labor Day Weekend, we want to be well-equipped with a handful of cocktail recipes to enjoy whether you're in the woods by the campfire with friends or around the dinner table with family. One of our friends at Oak & Eden, Corey Woosley, has graciously put together one of his specialty Fall cocktails to share with the Oak & Eden family. Before you finish the packing list or shopping list, be sure to add this Smokey Old Fashioned recipe to your weekend festivities! Cheers, and thank God for good whiskey!
- Wood shavings (oak or hickory)
- 2oz. Oak & Eden Bourbon
- 1/2oz. Simple syrup
- 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
- 2 dashes of Orange Bitters
- Garnish with orange peel and maraschino cherry
Serving Size: One (not always the loneliest number)
Directions: Collect wood shavings and torch. Hold tumbler over the smoke. Then trap the smoke by placing the glass rim down on a flat surface. Let the glass and smoke set. Meanwhile in a mixing glass combine the rest of the ingredients and stir with ice. When your ready flip over the tumbler and pour the cocktails into the glass. Garnish with orange peel and cherry and enjoy!
